Three Things We Need to Start Planning

You can request an estimate without building the whole moving plan yourself.

1

Where are you moving?

Share the pickup city, destination city and preferred move date.

2

What are you moving?

Start with your approximate home size. Inventory and larger items can be reviewed next.

3

Where do you want help?

Tell us if you may need packing, loading, storage planning or help with a difficult property access.

Choose What Fits

Moving Services You Can Build Around Your Route

Some moves need end-to-end transportation. Others need extra help only in a few places. Start with the type of route, then add the hands-on services your household actually needs.

1. Start with the move typeLong-distance, interstate or cross-country.
2. Add the help you wantPacking, loading and unloading, or storage planning.
02

State-to-state

Choose the Help — Not the Confusion

A Good Service Plan Starts With the Move You Actually Have

A one-bedroom apartment with an elevator, a four-bedroom home with a long driveway and a storage-unit pickup can all need different labor, access planning and preparation. The service list should follow the move — not the other way around.

That is why we start with the route, household inventory, property access and timing. From there, you can decide where professional help is useful and where you would rather handle part of the move yourself.

  • Homes, apartments, condos, townhomes and storage-unit pickups
  • Full or partial packing options
  • Stairs, elevators, gates, parking and long-carry planning
  • Storage availability reviewed around route and timing

Not Sure What to Pick?

Match the Service to the Part of the Move You Need Help With

I want the household move handled from pickup to delivery

Start with long-distance or interstate moving, then add packing or storage planning if the move requires it.

Start my estimate

I can pack most things, but want help with selected items

Ask about partial packing rather than assuming you need a full packing package.

Ask about partial packing

My building or property is difficult to access

Share stairs, elevator rules, loading zones, gates, parking limits and the carry from the home to the truck before moving day.

Tell us about access

My move-out and move-in dates do not match

Ask early about storage availability and how it may fit into the moving plan for your route.

Ask about timing & storage

Before You Choose Services

What Usually Shapes the Moving Plan and Estimate?

Service choices are only one part of a household move. A useful estimate starts with the details that affect labor, space, access and timing.

RoutePickup and destination locations
ShipmentHome size, inventory and larger items
AccessStairs, elevators, gates, parking and carries
PreparationPacking level and furniture preparation
TimingPreferred move date and scheduling
StorageWhether the homes are ready at the same time

From First Request to Moving Day

How the Service Planning Process Works

1

Send the basics

Share the route, preferred date and approximate move size.

2

Review the move

Inventory, larger items and pickup/delivery access help define the actual plan.

3

Choose the services

Add packing, loading support or storage planning only where it makes sense for the move.

4

Review the written details

Make sure the estimate and included services match what you expect before moving day.

5

Prepare for pickup

Confirm access, timing, building requirements and anything that changed since the estimate.

Amazing service, very friendly; Ve and his team are professional and experts in the moving industry. I am so happy and pleased with my move. I recommend South West Van Lines to everyone that is looking for the best moving company ever😊❣️
I recently used Southwest van lines for a long-distance move, and I’m overall very satisfied with their service. From the initial booking to the final delivery, the process was smooth and stress-free.
The team was professional, friendly, and handled my belongings with care. They arrived on time for both pick-up and delivery, and the communication throughout the entire move was clear and transparent. I appreciated that they kept me updated on the estimated arrival time of my items, which made the whole process feel less hectic.
There were a few minor hiccups, such as some slight delays during transit, but the team was very responsive when I reached out, and the delay didn’t affect the overall timeline too much. Additionally, my items arrived in excellent condition, and they even helped me reassemble some furniture that was disassembled during the move.
The pricing was reasonable compared to other quotes I received, and considering the level of service and care provided, it was well worth it. I would highly recommend Southwest van lines to anyone planning a long-distance move!
